  1. Google Ends Support for 1st and 2nd Gen Nest Learning Thermostats



Google announced it will end support for the first two generations of Nest Learning Thermostat starting October 25, 2025. While the devices will continue to function as traditional thermostats, they will no longer be controllable via the Google Home app or Assistant. Eligible users will receive special upgrade offers.


  1. Samsung Expands SmartThings with Health-Focused Automation and Matter 1.4 Support



Samsung has released a significant update to its SmartThings platform, introducing enhanced automation features, sleep wellness integrations, and support for the Matter 1.4 standard. This update allows SmartThings to recognize sleep routines via Galaxy Watch or Galaxy Ring devices, enabling automated adjustments to lighting and appliances based on users' sleep patterns. 


  1. Eufy Launches New Smart Home Products Including Robot Lawn Mower E18 



Eufy introduced several new smart home products as part of its Spring 2025 launch. Notably, the Robot Lawn Mower E18 offers vision-based navigation without the need for boundary wires or RTK systems, providing a hands-free lawn maintenance solution.


  1. Homey Pro Mini Smart Home Hub Now Shipping



Initially announced in December 2024, the Homey Pro Mini smart home hub has officially begun shipping this month. The Pro Mini offers support for Thread, Zigbee, Ethernet, and Matter, providing a streamlined, cost-effective alternative to the larger Homey Pro. Shipping has commenced in the United States and Canada, with European availability planned for later in 2025.
